Ways to make money as a Parent Coach

If you think the only way to make money as a Parent Coach is 1:1 coaching, think again!

In this article, I want to share with you a few additional ways you can create the income you desire while you build up your coaching business.

It wasn't long ago when I was wondering how I would ever pay the bills with my 1:1 Business Coaching. I knew people that needed my services, but every time I spoke to them about what I do, they said it sounded great but then didn't book with me.

Now, when I am on a call with a potential client, 8 out of 10 times, they book in immediately.

What's the difference you ask? The difference is, I got clear on who I serve and how I serve them. I niched to becoming a Business Coach for Parent Coaches. And, if you are a Parent Coach, it is a no-brainer to work with me. (shameless plug:)

Niching is one of the things you will hear me say over and over to ANYONE that will listen! If you don't have a clearly defined niche, no one will be clear on what you do, and being unclear creates NO results! Nadda...none at all!

STEP 1

But wait, I am here today to talk to you about creating additional revenue in your coaching business, not niching. Well, that is just it! You can't put the cart before the horse...there are steps to take to set your business up for success...and the number one thing to do is...you guessed it - NICHE!

If you are not sure on what your niche is, check out these free resources here that can help you define your niche and STAND OUT from the crowd!

Once you have your niche, shout it out loud and clear by making sure that it is plastered on every touchpoint in your business - your website, social media channels, hashtags, email, downloads, etc. Then, start telling everyone you know.

Your conversation could go something like this..."Hey mom, as a Parent Coach for _______, I have seen a lot of people struggle with ________. Do you know anyone that you can think of that might like to chat with me about it?"

STEP 2

So, now you have your niche in your area of expertise and you are shouting it out to everyone you know. The next step is to think about why people will work with you - what do they want - and how can you give it to them?

Even before you get your first client, you can start building your list of potential clients by giving them something they want. I create free opt-in's often, answering questions for Parent Coaches and giving them a step-by-step on how to build their business. Just like this article here - I created it because Parent Coaches were asking me "How can I make money!"

If you are not sure how to get started with creating a list, check out my article here on "How to Build your Email List"!

STEP 3

You have your niche, you are building your email list by asking parents what they need...the next step is to create something that invites them into your circle and allows them time to get to know you, and how you can help them.

There are some parents that you will connect with and that want to book you for 1:1 coaching right away. This is great! But for others that may not be ready to book 1:1 coaching, think about other ways you can serve them.

Now we are getting to the good stuff...this is how you can create additional income in your Parent Coaching business - are you ready???? Let's do this!

Ways to make additional income in your Parent Coaching business:

  1. Offer group coaching - usually at a lower price point than your 1:1 coaching
  2. Offer a course they can access on their own time
  3. Offer a membership - oh how I love this option! More on memberships later!
  4. Offer products to purchase: books, templates, worksheets, video recording etc.
  5. Get on stages (online right now)
  6. Write and get paid
  7. Train other Parent Coaches
  8. Do corporate training (companies need you to support their parents right now!)
  9. Do school training
  10. Create online retreats
  11. Create an online conference/summit
  12. Partner with someone else that could benefit from offering your services to their clients - look for a reciprocal arrangement that is a win-win for both of you!
  13. Don't give up!

BONUS ideas (and one's I use to create additional income)!!!

  1. Advertising and sponsorship of your blog/course/membership/magazine/book!!!
  2. Affiliate income! If you love something, share it with your audience and let them know you are an affiliate! I am an affiliate for Kajabi, because I use it and it is so stinkin' easy to start a course or membership program on this platform! Here is my link if you want a 14-day free trial to check it out!

The key to finding additional income in your work is to look at alternate ways to bring in additional revenue in your business. You may find that your income will be capped once you have a full 1:1 coaching schedule, but by offering one or a few of these other items, there is no cap. You can create the life and business you desire...one step at a time.

Lastly, because I always like to say it as it is...this takes time. Be prepared to try new ideas and pivot where needed...but if nothing else, don't give up. Keep moving forward each and every day and make sure it is always in the direction that lights you up and keeps you excited for the work you do.

If you know of any other items that I can include to this list, please email me. This list is definitely not exhaustive and parents' needs are forever changing.

Let's get growing!
